Okay, I've managed (somehow) to put the computer fiasco (sort of) behind me. On to more important stuff.

Vista is Out the Window! In the game of Myra versus new Windows Vista/Office 2007 laptop, the final score is: Myra - 0 Vista - 1 I threw in the towel. The machine is going back to the manufacturer, lock, stock, and barrel (MAJOR cliché alert, Margie Lawson!). I've moved everything back to my trusty old desktop, leaving my husband virtually computerless until we figure out what to do next. He can keep his company computer a few more days, and after that, he will have to either check his e-mail on my computer or resort to my ancient Windows 98 laptop that is still semi-functional. My Mac friends (including Robin Lee Hatcher, who kindly posted her thoughts on the matter yesterday in my comments section) have me pretty much convinced I need to join their leagues. Their numbers are growing, and I have yet to hear anyone say they regret the decision. Now it's a matter of educating myself and deciding what configuration best suits my needs. So, okay, all you Mac-using writers out there, give me your best shot. What are your Mac configuration recommendations and why? What do I need to know about transfering my Windows-created files over to be usable on the Mac, especially Office (Word, Excel, etc.)? Will Entourage import Outlook data files? What Internet browser does a Mac use? Can I import my IE Favorites? Will a Mac be able to read Word files, etc., from a CD created in Windows XP? P.S.: Sorry I didn't get this week's...
