Our bedtime devotion last night was on the subject of listening. Then I read this verse in The Message this morning:
Answering before listening is both stupid and rude. -- Proverbs 18:13
And then there's this one. Hmmm, another reason to send chocolate to editors?
A gift gets attention; it buys the attention of eminent people. -- Proverbs 18:16
Thanking God especially for the Seekers today . . .
Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family. -- Proverbs 18:24
And to Mr. Borg,
The temptation to modify the teachings of Christ with the hope that larger numbers may "accept" Him is cruelly strong in this day of speed, size, noise, and crowds. But if we know what is good for us, we'll resist it with every power at our command. -- Insight for Leaders devotion, excerpted from A.W. Tozer's The Size of the Soul
